Location. The hacienda style Gran Porto Real Resort & Spa All Inclusive stands at the center of Playa del Carmen's shopping and nightlife. This property in Mexico occupies a protected white sand cove noted for its calm waters.
Hotel Features. The Albatros restaurant features an international menu, while Maria Margarita lends romantic poolside ambience, complete with strolling musicians. Challenger Sports Bar provides open air ambience, a dance floor, casino nights and live Caribbean performances. A freeform pool features a shallow children's area while a second pool on the third floor terrace features a swim up bar and is designated as a quiet area for adults only. The resort's recreation staff presents daily activities, including bike tours, cooking classes, aqua aerobics classes and game tournaments. Guests may also conduct self guided tours aboard the hotel's complimentary bikes. An on site health club includes a spa with sauna and steam room, a fitness center and a beauty salon. The hotel provides snorkeling equipment and an introductory scuba lesson in the pool, fees may apply.
Guestrooms. This resort offers 270 air conditioned guestrooms, all with a private or shared balcony and full or partial ocean views. D�cor is Mediterranean/hacienda, with sponge painted walls, ornate ceiling fans, handmade wooden furniture and marble tile floors.
Expert Tip. The Xaman Ha Aviary in nearby Playacar is a botanical garden with tropical bird habitats. Flamingos, toucans and parrots share this habitat, some of which roam about freely.
